“It is with books as with men: a very small number play a great part.” – Voltaire

There is something absolutely magical about an old stack of books and just in time for all your bedtime stories tonight. 🌟

We have bookshelves and book cases; books come in and only rarely get loaned out. We still do get hardcovers, but mostly non-fiction (I like to read and keep biographies). However, so many are now coming to me via Kindle or Audible. The convenience is very high (on vacation I only carry a few ounces, not half a suitcase full) and I can listed to books while driving. The downside is that they never get saved.

Sometimes I bemoan the advances in technology. Whenever I used to visit my grandmother she would pull out the old photo album, look at the pictures, and tell me stories about the people and events. I’m afraid the next generation will never have those memories.

Sorry to ramble on; I seem to be in a philosophical mood this evening. Take care my friend.

No need to apologize Steve. Actually, I think rambling on is a lost art. 😉 Take care yourself.

Ahhh books, my fave!! I have stacks and stacks everywhere, as hubby likes to remind me, I try to tidy them once in awhile, but somehow another stack appears ….. If I die first, he’s gonna have such a hoard of them to get rid of (but first he has to find them all!!!). I tried to get into e-books but I just love the feel and texture of real books (plus I’m on the computer all day to begin with).

Hahaha! We’re a bit of a hybrid like Steve Kalman — collecting them in hardback, ebook and audible but I like your style Nikki. 😉
